Any suggestions for a possible start of a urinary tract infection? Started this a.m. slight but wanted to catch it before weekend. I’m drinking cranberry juice and water.
The thing in cranberry that is helpful for UTI’s is a sugar called D-Mannose… and the purified sugar is the most effective way to treat and prevent UTI’s naturally… Using a teaspoonful of the powder, or 2 of the capsules, 3 or 4 times a day is usually enough to head off the infection. I would suggest continuing to do that for a couple of days after the symptoms are gone.
Then I would take a teaspoonful of the powder, or 2 capsules, daily for another week.
If UTI’s are a constant problem, then you can use D-Mannose daily for prevention. I have a lot of good experience with women no longer getting UTI’s when using it regularly.
As an FYI, the way that D-Mannose works is not by killing any bacteria, it merely acts as a substrate for the bacteria (e.coli) to hold on to, instead of the wall of the bladder, which allows for the body to get rid of it.
